Art @ Morris Adjmi Architects
Starting in 2016, Morris Adjmi Architects inaugurated a series exhibitions of contemporary artists at their offices in the Financial District.
The series appropriately began with a show of Aldo Rossi's work from Morris Adjmi's personal collection. The show provided a varied look at Rossi's output, including sketches and models of his architectural work, as well as furniture and industrial design objects, capped by the famous tea and coffee sets designed for Alessi.
Matthias van Arkel, the architect's frequent collaborator, was the second artist to show at MA. Working with large scale spatial interventions, van Arkel's work forced a reinterpretation of the office areas where it was installed - a perfect exercise for an innovative architecture practice.
